We are the great sisterhood of all women. Different and the same.
We come in all shapes and sizes….all shades of color….with different cultures…. different languages…. different views of the world and our place in it…. yet,
In our bodies we carry future generations.
In our hearts we guard and protect those we love.
In our minds we strive to grow the woman hiding inside.
Our mothers before us did these things.
Our mothers washed, cleaned, cooked, calmed our disputes, dried our tears, taught us their wise words and let us go to find our own way.
Now it is our turn.
We are the great sisterhood of all women. Wanting and wary.
Like sisters, our bond waxes and wanes.
Like sisters, we sometimes seek the better share.
Like sisters, our love is haunted by history of hidden hurts.
We are the great sisterhood of all women. Resilient and hopeful.
We will pass through the thunder of temporal disputes.
We will set aside the child-woman who nurses wayward slights.
We will go forward, in unity, good will and faith in each other.
Let us embrace one another in peace,
For we are the great sisterhood of all women.
