We are all going a little bonkers these days between the pandemic and election. At least we know the election will be over in a few days and we can focus on…what? Normally this time of year we are starting to plan our holidays. The best advice is not to have gatherings but we still have to eat! And we would like our meals to be tasty and fun. This turns out to be a bigger challenge for some of us than you might initially think. Now that my grandson is living with me, I am facing the almost daily question: What shall we have for dinner? Recipes I haven’t looked at in decades have taken on new life. Sloppy joes, tacos, spaghetti, stir fry – I’m trying them all, and my grandson bravely tackles whatever I serve him. Now I know the full measure of what a good kid he is. And here’s a little piece of advice: always have some tasty dessert available to leave everyone feeling just for the moment like the world is a better place.
