The Detroit Riverwalk is a 5 mile paved walkway along the Detroit River with views of the downtown skyline and across the river to Windsor, Ontario. The walkway stretches from The Ambassador Bridge to Belle Isle with many sights and scenes along the way including gardens, art installations, and a carousel. You can walk by Cobo Center, Hart Plaza, GM Renaissance Center, DNR Adventure Center, Chene Music Park, all the way to the Belle Isle Bridge. Plus, off the Dequindre Cut, you can continue for an additional mile walk to Eastern Market.
Wildwood Tea Group took a lovely late summer walk along the Riverfront starting at Cobo Center and walking to Chene Park. We then walked back towards Cobo stopping for lunch together at Andiamo’s located in the GM Renaissance Center before returning back to Ann Arbor. We parked our cars in a pay lot near Cobo, spending several hours along the riverfront walking approximately 3 miles in total.
You can check out the website www.detroitriverfront.org for more information and to plan a visit! Our tea group highly recommends it!!
