Summer in Ann Arbor is absolutely sparkling…though it doesn’t seem possible at the moment. The sun shines through a million tiny leaves, the town is full of smiles and the laughing voices of people who have been impatiently craving this beautiful season during the long, long, cold winter. In summer, they emerge at long last from their blanket to fill every patio table of the restaurants downtown, make long winding lines outside the famous ice cream shop, Blank Slate, or kayak along the Huron River. Of course, I am absolutely one of them. I was totally fascinated by the beauty of summer in Ann Arbor and made the most of it.

“A2SF” – Ann Arbor Summer Festival – It’s the highlight of summer for me! Last summer, I was there almost every day and night for a month. I listened to bands while sitting on the lawn with a hotdog (or beer in the beer garden), did yoga or tai-chi under the sun, and watched movies under the stars, thinking, “This is such an awesome festival!” It runs for several weeks and offers a variety of activities for everyone on the beautiful campus of the University of Michigan. You can go enjoy it with your family, friends, or by yourself anytime. I can assure you that it’ll be a fantastic start to the summer!

The festival starts from the beginning of June and lasts until the beginning of July,
with events daily.

The (free) Top of the Park series, is held outdoors on Ingalls Mall (915 E. Washington St), and offers concerts, movies, kids’ activities, wellness classes, and open-air spectacles with local food vendors.
